A recent announcement of the planned PNSP in 2 prisons in Canada is supported by an article to build support on developing harm reduction services in prison settings.

Federal government to uphold its commitment to a 'comprehensive, collaborative, compassionate and evidence-based approach to drug policy' (Government of Canada 2016), which includes harm reduction, by implementing PNSPs in consultation with correctional staff and people in prison.
